Still Life - 2016

Photography Documentation Series.

 

Still life looks at the current modern trend of ‘enhancing’ sex through the mass explosion of pornography and the sexual focus of the internet age.

 

The work focuses on the ‘body not being enough’ and the removal of many sexual taboos, normalising fetish and perversion, through the wealth of information and imagery available on the internet. Under the guise of sexual liberation, do we become desensitised to the intimacy of sex?

The work largely as research presents these themes through traditional still life arrangements of sex toys, owned by the artist, photographed.
