Heavy Metal (2021)

Created from 800 Magnetic Resonance Images (MRI) of the artist's lower abdomen, taken while undergoing a medical process of embolisation of fibroids (uterine growths). Film creates a journey within the body, a journey of discovery and embodied experience of a MRI to mirror the artist's own somatic experience. This work is a culmination of two years of creative research to discover and understand fibroids which have been at the source of artistic and personal inquiry.
